Sometimes, we can hear our limiting/negative thoughts playing in the back of our mind like a broken record and without us consciously realizing it, they can become huge barriers to our creativity and growth.
Limiting beliefs like:
“I don’t have imagination.”
“I am not talented”
“I will never be good enough.”
“I don’t trust my ability to create.”
“People don’t like what I create.”
“Nobody will notice my art.”
Sometimes, we are totally unaware of our negative thoughts. They are so unconscious but they still affect us. We suddenly become upset and we do not understand why. Our flow is cut, we feel completely uninspired, we want to hide, and so much more.
Negative thoughts are there to protect us. Negative thoughts are there to keep us safe. They are also an indication of an emotion that needs to surface desperately and our presence to that emotion is needed. There is always a need behind them and becoming aware of that need is important because it allows us to go to the direction that allows to meet that need. What this negative thought letting me know that I need? This process needs a lot patience, gentleness and support.
We also need to understand that negative thoughts are not always true. All we have to do is to question them. Questioning our thoughts creates a separation between ourselves and the thoughts we are thinking and so we start to observe them instead of being completely attached to them and believe them blindly.
Our limiting beliefs once helped us survive, feel belonging and accepted but now they keep us stuck and prevent us from practicing, learning and allowing the creative process to take place. They block us from accessing our highest potential as creators.
For that reason, I have created this painting. This creation intends to help you release limiting beliefs around creativity and restore confidence. It is more like “I CAN” energy.
The truth is that we can't change something that we don't want to. So the question is do I want to change this belief (thought)? Is it beneficial or detrimental for my well-being? If your negative thought or limiting belief feels detrimental is time to replace it with a new one, a new way of looking at the situation is needed.
